2018-19 Chorus Update from Mrs. Gigliotti

Chorus Families,

I hope the Summer has been restorative and that you are looking forward to a great year of music! My health continues to improve each month and I am feeling much better than last year at this time. I am still working through the last leg of my recovery, as it has been a very slow and steady process; but, I am very excited to be returning to the classroom part-time this year. Mrs. McCormick will be working with me to provide a soft return as I re-adjust to the required pace and stamina of the job. She will be teaching Chorale, Camerata and Bella Voce on Blue Days and I will be teaching Select Treble and Chamber Singers on Green Days. I will also have the opportunity to work with ALL of our singers during the Seahawk Seminar rotations on Green Days.

Mrs. McCormick and I have been working closely with counselors to rectify ensemble placements. If you have a class conflict your counselor may have already reached out to you. If you find that there is a concern, when you receive your schedule on August 23rd, please let Mrs. McCormick or myself know.

While Mrs. McCormick and I may have different personal teaching styles, we are aligned on our expectations for the incoming year. This year may feel a bit different than the last. We have some very enriching and exciting things planned for this year.

I am beyond blessed to be surrounded by such a strong, passionate, and caring Choir community at South Lakes. Words cannot adequately express my gratitude for the heartfelt sentiments that have been extended to me over the last 18 months, and for the continued support as I return.

Thank you for your understanding, support, commitment and dedication to the SLHS Choral program.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gigliotti
